Arts Council England

Grants for the Arts is our open access funding programme for individuals, art organisations and other people who use the arts in their work.

We offer awards from £1,000 to £100,000 to support a wide variety of arts-related activities, from dance to visual arts, literature to theatre, music to combined arts

Youth Music

Youth Music’s grants programme provides funding for music-making projects in England. It is made up of three separate funds:

     Fund A offers small grants for high quality music-making projects and involves a simple application process.

     Fund B offers medium-sized grants for larger programmes of work.

     Fund C offers grants for strategic programmes to help embed sustainable, inclusive music-making across a local area.

Wiltshire Community Foundation

Wiltshire Community Foundation has made a significant contribution to local communities by making grants of £10 million since 1991, giving money and support where Wiltshire people need it most.

UK Community Foundations

A community foundation is a charity that connects those that have financial resources with local charities whose impact is restrained only by a lack of finance.  Each foundation has a specific geographic area, meaning that they have unparalleled local knowledge.  Community foundations work with individuals, families and companies to design bespoke grant making strategies that target particular issues or focus on particular geographical areas.

Musical Instrument Grants for young people

Various grant sites trhat support and accept applications for musicial instruments.

Future Talent

Future Talent supports gifted young musicians from low income backgrounds from anywhere in the UK. This is typically families who have a household income of around £30,000 per year, or less, before tax (incl. benefits). Any young musicians on free school dinners would be eligible for one of our bursaries.

Bursaries of up to £2,000 per year can be used on anything that will help nurture a young musician’s talent. For example, funds can be used for lessons, a new instrument or case, courses or maintenance.

We do not have a specific grade requirement or level that needs to be reached, but rather we try to weigh up the financial need/talent/potential of each musician. Some examples of the kind of musicians we support are below:

·         A 16/17 year old, grade 7/8 musician who is planning to study music in higher education and needs their own instrument or extra lessons.

 ·         A 13 year old who has been learning for a few years and is progressing really quickly, who would really benefit from taking part in an ensemble/orchestral course, or who needs some more support with costs.

 ·         A year 5 or 6 continuer, who has gone through wider opportunities, and has managed to reach grade 2/3 standard by the end of primary school, but whose parents cannot afford to carry on with lessons.
